This litter was bred to produce working stock dogs! And we were successful! All pups work ducks and sheep.... so far....
All of these pups have been a delight to train and get started on livestock.
These pups have been "working" their mom for weeks. Its been a great opportunity to work on their downs because they all copy mom!
Mikey is an adorable sweet pup who wants to hang out mostly with me but works like his mom on sheep. He's probably staying at Dogwood to grow out and train up for the nursery class.
Kevin is already getting stylish with lots of eye! He's a serious puppy and an old soul in his heart. He's going to require a handler who will be consistent.
Originally named Tiny by my brother as as a joke cause he's been the biggest all along. We changed it to Tiny Tim cause he's got a pure heart.
Fern is a sweet girl who will be easy for a novice person to handle. She has a calm temperament and is nicely pressure sensitive already.
Elsie is always first at everything: first to climb out of the whelping box, first to learn to sit, first to jump into the wading pool (and to learn to blow bubbles! ). AND, she was the first to turn on to ducks and then sheep. She's gonna be a nice worker also!
Squirt got her name from being the smallest in the litter and adorably mischievous! She shows awesome work on sheep already - so she'll probably stay at Dogwood!
Jean is a wide working Pro- novice dog who is sensitive to pressure. She is easy to work, fast, and responds instantly to her whistles.
Camo is a wonderful working dog and pretty decent open level trial dog! His temperament is as steady as his working style.
Camo is out of Kent Herbel's XP Ranch lines but has a lot of great UK dogs in his background. His Great Great Grandfather is Bobby Dalziel's Wisp - a supreme International Champion.
Camo is a very stylish worker with lots of eye. He's biddable and has great square flank, natural balance, and awesome rate. He's been such a blessing to work and learn on.
Camo has made it easy for me to get to the open level as a handler and has been such a joy to work and live with.
Jean came to us via Tyler Shupe, and is entirely UK bred. She also has some great working dogs in her background including R. Hutchinson's National Champion Sweep.
Jean has yet to trial but is trained thru the open level. She's got natural square flanks and fast huge outruns - without even trying!
This girl is certainly not a quitter and will work all day if you need her too.
